Why hire a bookkeeper?!

Our clients all have one thing in common – they are too busy being successful to handle their own paperwork. Many of them intended to do their own books but good intentions ended up with a pile of messy papers that kept staring them in the face and causing them stress. As their fiscal year ground on the pile got bigger and the stress got worse. Then we stepped in for a few hours a month and put everything in order and relieved that stress for them. We condensed invoices, receipts and other financial paperwork down to a few short reports that helped monitor progress and growth, showed real profits or losses and aided in planning for the future.

We have had clients literally hand over bags full of mashed up papers and beg us to tell them if they are making any money. These people are BUSY! They don’t have time to sit down and sort through paper and figure out software and how to post entries. Set up a General Ledger?! Forget about it! We set up the books, sort the paper, post it and file it in an orderly fashion (which means one can actually find a particular receipt!). And then, at year end, we hand over the important reports to the accountant for the tax return.
One thing our clients expect from us is to save them money. And, I have to admit, it is our favourite thing to do! Sometimes it is making sure all services have been invoiced out (things get missed!). Other times it’s making sure all the invoices are actually paid (we are good at collections!). But those are the obvious things. Not so obvious is when we notice patterns in expenses and find ways for our clients to cut wasteful spending.  Also, because we have a growing client base, we can compare different supplier prices across the board and make recommendations to save all our clients money.

As most entrepreneurial businesses require as little as 2-5 hours per month of bookkeeping services, hiring an in-house bookkeeper is more than they need. So using a bookkeeping company like TayLynn can be an economical way of getting the job done. Also, you probably don't enjoy bookkeeping and we do so why not simply get us to do it!?
